Development Research Centre on Migration, Globalisation and Poverty

Institute for the Study of International Migration (ISIM)
From Georgetown University. Includes details of teaching, research and publications (some available for downloading), and events.

International Organization for Migration (IOM)
"The leading international organization working with migrants and governments to provide humane responses to migration challenges ... maintains close working relations with UN bodies and operational agencies. IOM has as partners a wide range of international and non-governmental organizations." Details of projects and research in relevant areas (e.g. Counter-trafficking, Labour migration) and of publications, some available online, plus links to related websites.

Migrating out of Poverty
Based at University of Sussex. "The main goal of Migrating out of Poverty is to provide robust data and evidence on migration drivers, impacts and policies that will contribute to improving policies affecting the lives of migrants, their communities and countries through a programme of innovative research, capacity building and policy engagement." Successor to Development Research Centre on Migration, Globalisation and Poverty

Sussex Centre for Migration Research
Based at University of Sussex. Includes link to Working papers.

Refugee Studies Centre
"The RSC is the leading multidisciplinary centre for research and teaching on the causes and consequences of forced migration and refugees." Details of research (including text of Reports and Articles), teaching, publications (including text of Working papers), and of the Centre's activities.

Refugees International
An advocacy organisation whose focus is to generate assistance for refugees. Site includes accounts of their work by location and topic.

RESPECT Refugees
RESPECT – Refugee Education Sponsorship Program, Enhancing Communities Together is "an international NGO committed to raising awareness about refugees and refugee issues, encouraging activism among youth, and further empowering refugee children and communities through letter and cultural exchange and through the donation and transport of education-related material aid". Includes facts, statistics, courses and training materials on refugee related issues.

Trends in International Migration and in Migration Policies
From OECD. Details of OECD publications, plus links to statistical data in Excel format (e.g. Database on foreign-born and expatriates, International migration data) and to Social, employment and migration working papers.

UNHCR – The UN Refugee Agency
Information on UNHCR's latest appeals and campaigns, text of conventions, official statements, other policy documents and publications, statistics (including UNHCR's Statistical yearbook) and research. Includes RefWorld, "a vast collection of reports and information relating to situations in countries of origin, policy documents and positions, and documents relating to international and national legal frameworks".
