AllAfrica
African current news and information from over 100 African news organisations, together with an archive dating back to 1996. Sources include government and opposition-controlled papers, independent, media services, and original reporting by AllAfrica’s own journalists. Current news section freely available; older material available within IDS (IDS members can ask at the library service counter for a username/password to access this from outside IDS).

Columbia International Affairs Online
Covers theory and research in international affairs. Materials date from 1991, & include the full text of working and occasional papers from university research institutes, NGOs, foundation-funded research projects, proceedings from conferences, books, journals and policy briefs. Only available to IDS members.

EIU Country Reports and Profiles - Economist Intelligence Unit
Country reports and annual country profiles in full-text for 116 countries in Africa and the Middle East, the Americas and Asia. Username and password, available from BLDS for IDS members, required off campus.

ilissAfrica (Internet library sub-Saharan Africa)
"A portal that offers an integrated access to relevant scientific conventional and digital information resources on the sub-Saharan Africa region. Information scattered on private or institutional websites, databases or library catalogues are brought together in order to facilitate research."

Indian Citation Index
Covers 568 (June 2011) Indian journalsl; aims to cover 1000. Enables user to trace citations to journal articles so as to follow the progress of a line of research. Registration required, but this is free.

LatinNews
Political and economic information on Latin America. Includes Latin American Weekly Report. Username and password, available from BLDS for IDS members, required off campus

OECD iLibrary
"OECD’s Online Library for Books, Papers and Statistics and the gateway to OECD’s analysis and data ... contains all the publications and datasets released by OECD (Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development), International Energy Agency (IEA), Nuclear Energy Agency (NEA), OECD Development Centre, PISA (Programme for International Student Assessment), and International Transport Forum (ITF) since 1998 - over 1 000 journal issues, 2 900 working papers, 2 500 multi-lingual summaries, 6 200 e-book titles, 14 000 tables and graphs, 21 000 chapters and articles, and 390 complete databases with more than 4 billion data points."
